Hi I'm Anne

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mother of four boys. I teach piano lessons. I'm a book worm.

About Me

I grew up in a little farming community surrounded by family and close friends. After college, I moved with my husband to start our own life together. We've been blessed with four beautiful boys. Before our children were born, I taught 4th grade and loved helping children to learn. I now focus on helping our boys learn and grow by volunteering at their schools and teaching them at home. I love music and have played the piano for 25 years. I teach piano lessons from my home and find joy in hearing others learn to make music. In between racing my kids to and from school and sports, I try to find time to read as many books as possible. I love spending time in the kitchen, trying new recipes and baking for the people I love. As a family, we love to spend time outdoors - camping, fishing, and playing soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young child, my mother was a member of the church and my father was not. I watched my father learn about the church and felt the spirit in our home as he studied and developed his own testimony, which led to his baptism. I can remember that day with clarity, even though I was young, and knew that was what I wanted to do when I was old enough. I was baptized by my father at the age of 8 years old. Since then, I have stayed an active member of the church because I feel at peace when I study and learn more about the gospel. As I try to live the gospel, I feel the love of my Heavenly Father and have received numerous blessings that I know have come from my desire to do what is right.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith in a number of different ways. Right now, I work the hardest to live my faith by teaching my young children the gospel. I want them to love the scriptures as I do so we read scriptures as a family and talk about what we read. We meet together as a family once a week to and share scriptures stories and teachings. We say daily family prayer. My husband and I want our children to know that they are children of God and that they are special so we try our best to show them that love on a daily basis. I also try to live my Faith as I serve at church with the youth. I feel it a priviledge to be surrounded by such amazing young people. We attend church camps together, weekly activities, firesides, service projects, and attend the temple as a group. When we participate in these activities, I try to share my thoughts and feelings about the gospel with them whenever the situation allows. We draw strength from each other as we talk about the gospel that will help us face the struggles and challenges of daily life.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

At a number of different times in my life, I have felt the Holy Ghost helping me. Sometimes, it is just a prompting to do something, such as call a family member, visit a friend, etc. The prompting from the Holy Ghost is like a thought that comes into my mind. Other times, the prompting is more urgent and keeps coming to my mind until I act on the prompting. At times of sadness, I have felt peace come from the Holy Ghost that helps me to understand the sad situation and to find comfort. Show more Show less
