Hi I'm Lila

I was born in Idaho but grew up in Washington State. I love being a grandma. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a grandma. Finding out where I come from and who I'm related to has been my hobby. I love talking to others with that same interest. I also enjoy reading and doing things with my kids and husband. My favorite time of year is autumn--the smell in the air, the brilliant colors and the harvest. They just can't be beat! I loved being a stay at home mom and now find that I can volunteer to do so many things. I wish I had a green thumb because I love growing things and I also love interior decorating. I love life and my wonderful husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am very grateful for loving parents who taught me that I am a child of God and that He cares about me and every one of us. At the age of seven I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was a very scary time for our family. My dad gave me a blessing and I knew that if I had faith, my life would be preserved. Despite having to overcome several problems, I was able to have a normal childhood but at the age of eleven, the tumor returned. I again had a blessing and my life was preserved but the doctors said that they weren't able to remove all of the tumor. I was sent home to die. I had had a blessing and I knew that if I had the faith, I would be all right. Now I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and four children and we have sixteen grandchildren. I have been able to live a normal life and have so many blessings. I know that God loves us. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. I am a member of His church because it is right and I love the Savior and the sacrifice he made for me so that I can be with my loved ones for eternity.

How I live my faith

The scriptures say that "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". I love to help and lift others. This is a tough world and none of us can get through without challenges and we need to lean on one another. I love teaching the children and I have taught and loved them for at least twenty years. I love the way the women in the ward take care of one another. I have been on the receiving end of their goodness too many times to count. Because of the blessings of the gospel, I have done so many things that I wouldn't have been brave enough to do or have had the opportunity to do. I have been involved in singing, dancing, speaking, teaching, cooking and so many other things. Having a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father is first on my list and I will always be working on doing all that He requires of me so that I can return to His presence when that time comes.
