Hi I'm Bonnie J

I'm a Mormon. I'm grateful for that everyday.

About Me

I am the mom to 4 wonderful exhausting kids, and the wife to a great guy. I love to garden and read books whenever I can find the time. Friends are a big part of my life, they are great sound boards. I grew up in a big family in California and basically lived at the beach. Sometimes living where I am I miss the ocean but I can reach it a few times a year and that makes me happy. I attended BYU Idaho when it was still Ricks college and then BYU Utah. I studied Interpersonal Communication.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a Mormon. I had challenges and experiences like everyone else that made me find my own testimony so I didn't have to lean on the testimony of my parents. I know from personal experience that My Heavenly Father loves me and is aware of what I'm going through. I have felt his guidance in making decisions for myself and my family. I have felt the peace and happiness that can only come through heaven. It gives me peace when facing hard times. I am grateful everyday to know where I came from and to know that I am going to be with my family again after we die. I couldn't imagine living without the knowledge that we will not be separated by death. It gives me the courage to send my kids out in a world full of danger. I know that living my beliefs is a small way to earn that eternity with my family.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in so many different ways in the wards i've attended. I've done everything from being a teacher to the 18 month old babies and 3 year olds. I've taught music to the children of the ward and been the chorister for our ward. I also had the wonderful opportunity to serve with the teenage young women in several wards and I love being with them. I've also been the Den Leader in the scout program several times and gotten to work with my sons in that wonderful program. I live my faith everyday as I refrain from gossip and poor language. I live my faith by eating healthy and taking care of the body I've been given. I live my faith by trying to be kind to everyone I meet. And then I try to ask forgiveness when I don't!

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Bonnie J
We believe families are the most important thing we have. We are here to have the opportunity to live as mothers and fathers and children to grow and develop together. Its living with a family that we learn patience, love and sacrifice. We learn our hardest lessons together as a family and it helps us to weather these challenges together. We believe that the highest achievement we are working for is to live worthy to live with our family forever. Is it always easy? No. Is it worth it? Yes everyday. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Bonnie J
Having faith in Jesus Christ helps me in my marriage in many ways. First he taught us patience and kindness and that is how we should treat our spouse. If we would talk kindly to our spouse how many problems could we avoid, just by being kind and patient and remembering that Jesus Christ was the only perfect being to walk the earth. My faith also gives me a reason to always take my marriage serious because I know that I made a covenant to love and honor my husband not just till death do us part but for all eternity. That means I can never take my marriage lightly and irresponsibly. I made a promise to do my best to make my marriage successful. Our faith also gives us common ground that we can base everything else off of. After my faith my husband is the most important thing to me and I cherish him. Show more Show less
