Hi I'm Conrad Ervin

I'm extremely happy because I learned the truth. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a ranch and was raised around cattle and horses. I attended 12 years in the same school. I graduated in 1966 and then attended college for two years. I then joined the U.S. Marine Corp. I served a tour in Vietnam and returned home in one piece. I went back to college and graduated with a bachelor's degree in education and was hired as an elementary school teacher in the community I grew up in. I wanted to teach in Alaska and applied for an received a job offer in southeastern Alaska. I taught for four years, two of which was in a one-room school grades k-12 as the only teacher. I moved to Montana and raised a family and continued to teach school for 13 years. Life has unexpected changes and divorce occurred. Children were grown and I moved to Idaho. I retired from teaching and went back to college and earned an associate's degree in nursing, becoming a registered nurse. I worked 12 years as an emergency room trauma nurse. Something was missing in my life. I didn't know what life was for. I wondered why I was even in existence.

Why I am a Mormon

My son had joined the Church and married a beautiful young woman and had a wonderful family. They were happy. Their friends treated me with respect and kindness and seemed to always be happy. I talked to my son about this and he told me about the Book of Mormon and explained more about the Church. I decided I wanted to find out more. I needed to find out more. I wanted the truth about life. I found it. I began attending church in a small branch and was asked by the branch president if I would like to have missionaries to begin teaching me and I agreed. They came to my house. My wife at this time went to the bedroom. We had our first lesson. They agreed to come back the following week. We began our lesson and my wife joined in. Several months later, we were baptized. One year and one day following baptism we were sealed in the temple. Life has meaning and I know the Book of Mormon to be true. Joseph Smith was sent to restore the gospel. Thomas S. Monson is now our current prophet, revelator, and seer.

How I live my faith

I talked to Heavenly Father daily. I awake with a prayer. I make an attempt to be more loving, understanding, and compassionate, especially to my spouse. I try to be a missionary by listening to the quiet whisper of the Spirit. I serve as a counselor to the branch president and accept various callings as they come. I'm proud to be a Mormon.
