Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Boise, ID. I know where I am going and who I am. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Christian. I believes that there is only one Christ that was offered to the Earth from a loving Heavenly Father. I believe in that Christ as spoken of in the King James version of the Bible in Mathew, Mark, Luke & John and throughout the entire scriptures. Both works, his pre-sacrifice life (the Bible) & his post sacrifice life as recorded in the Book of Mormon. I am 31 years old. I have spent the last 12 years hopelessly devoted to my career. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home wife & mother. Though the job is thankless and unglamorous, I wouldn't ask for anything else...well maybe my figure back. My husband Chad & I have 3 beautiful children. Alexis Cynthia, Ella Margaret & Brady William. We are pretty sure that the office has reached full capacity. Over-head costs and staff morale are very important to the president and I. Never say never, but right now Smith & Co. is fully staffed. I enjoy being creative. Interior design, sewing & creating beautiful things with my hands are just a few of the hobbies I enjoy. I find joy in keeping my body healthy, although it is a constant effort, I am grateful for the Word of Wisdom that has taught me the proper way to care for my body from a loving Heavenly Father that knew we would need some guidance while here on this Earth. I love books & teaching my children the magic that can be found inside a good story. We also love to travel as a family & hope to be able to see much more of this beautiful country & world!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because my parents were, to be honest. However, I was also given the opportunity to find for myself whether this Gospel (being a Mormon) was the right choice for me. I went on a spiritual journey to find that answer. What did I find? Other religions who have truth, but missed vital elements that I knew in my heart were missing. I tried having no religion & felt empty & lost. So in investigating my childhood religion with fresh eyes I saw, felt & knew that this Gospel was WHOLE and therefore the one I was obligated to live! I wasn't obligated because someone threatened a dark & empty eternity if I did leave, but I felt obligated because I knew in my heart the truth & wanted to be a representative of Jesus Christ through my testimony. I am Mormon because I want an eternal family with the love of my life & our children. I am so grateful for this covenant (promise) I have made to my earthly companion & God, to stay worthy & faithful to my spouse. The promise made to me if I am found worthy is an eternal family, I can't pretend that I don't know that is true. If I only had until "death do us part" I would feel lost & unsure of my purpose. I don't have to hope, or assume eternity through interpretations of scripture, I KNOW through the Bible, Book of Mormon & modern day prophesy that this is a very real blessing of this Gospel. I am Mormon because sometimes I am unsure of things in this life, including religion! I am a part of a Gospel that has answers for me at every turn. Not the philosophy of man or the opinions of a learned leader, but from solid sources such as the Bible, Book of Mormon & Prophet of God called to guide the church today. These sources are supported by unpaid, down to Earth leaders who's only motivation is their own testimony & faith. The Book of Mormon fills in the gaps and blanks that the Bible alone doesn't answer. And our prophet encourages & sustains their words. Simply put, it just makes sense!

How I live my faith

I have found that "living my faith" means having a prayer in my heart. Constantly asking my Heavenly Father for guidance, patience, love & understanding while interacting with my brothers & sisters also on their journey in this life, regardless of what they believe! I understand living my faith means being honest in my actions, live what I profess to believe & offer a helping hand to those who may need one, no matter who they are or what their background is. I know that I have a loving Father in heaven who loves me & all those that have come before & will come after my journey here on this Earth. I live my faith everyday in my home with my family by having scripture study, prayers, following the Word of Wisdom in taking care of our bodies & by striving to follow Jesus' example of how to treat one another. Trust me when I say that we "strive" to do these things! It isn't easy or effortless to be a member of this faith. There are a lot of struggles standing up for what you believe in this world today. We try to make our home a place of refuge & peace for ourselves, our children & anyone else, member or not, that find themselves within its walls. We pray for the spirit to accompany our daily lives & hope those who enter our home can feel the difference it makes. Being a Mormon means being ready to defend yourself at any moment. We strive to do all of the actions listed above so that we are ready to stand as witnesses of God in all things & in all places! At church, I am the ward Librarian & help to keep things running smoothly during instruction times. Supplying our ward with the materials needed to teach the little ones & encourage the bigger one ;).
