Hi I'm Lisa

I grew up in Mesa, AZ. I love being outside camping, hiking, gardening, and jogging (when it's not too hot!). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and stay-at-home mom of 3 little girls with #4 on the way! I love to be outside camping, hiking, gardening, and jogging. I have my AA and hope to continue my education when my kids are grown. As part of my degree, I did a semester abroad in Vienna, Austria where I learned German and experienced the beautiful culture of music, architecture, and art that is so rich there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I attend church and participate in service opportunities provided by the organizations of the church, I feel the Holy Spirit testify to me that this is the same organization that Jesus Christ established when He was on the earth. I was born and raised in this church, but I have had my own personal conversion through many small but powerful experiences throughout my life. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and no other book has brought me so much peace, understanding, guidance, and truth. It truly is another witness of Jesus Christ. I make mistakes and I need the atonement to help me become more like Him. The church helps me understand how to apply the atonement in my life and provides opportunities to serve and strengthen my faith. I have a testimony of the priesthood and the power it holds to bless, comfort, and heal all of God's children. I have a testimony of our living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I believe that God still speaks to us through His Prophet and through personal revelation. I believe that the Temple is the house of God where individuals can receive saving ordinances that will lead us back to the presence of God, and where families can be sealed together for eternity. This knowledge brings me so much joy and peace. I love this church and I feel lucky to be a member of it. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first by teaching my children the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a goal to read the scriptures and pray together as a family daily. We are not always successful, but when we are, there is an increase of love, patience, and strength in our home and between family members. We hold Family Home Evenings on Monday nights. I have served in various callings in the church. I currently am the Primary Chorister and I LOVE it! I love hearing the sweet, pure voices of the children sing the beautiful, simple gospel truths that are taught through the Children's Songbook and the Hymns. "I Am A Child of God", "I Know My Father Lives", "Families Can Be Together Forever", "I Feel My Savior's Love"... it strengthen's my testimony every week! I try to attend the Temple at least twice a month. It is such a blessing to have a Temple so close by!
