Hi I'm Shauna

I'm a happy wife, an excited homeschooling mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the wife of a superhero and a homeschooling mom of five amazing girls! The hobbies I enjoy most are spending time with my family, teaching, and learning. (I also love to watch wholesome movies that make me laugh!) I enjoy the opportunity homeschooling gives me to learn some things right along with our girls. I love having our children home! I love that they are each other's best friends. I love the relationships that my older girls have with my younger girls. I also love the friends we have made through homeschooling. I love people! There are so many wonderful things I have been able to learn from others. I especially love youth! They are so amazing! They are our future. I want each one of them to know who he/she really is and to understand that our Heavenly Father knows them well and needs them to reach their potential.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family but I am a Mormon because the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are Christ's doctrines. Christ's Gospel was restored through Joseph Smith. I know that to be true through countless experiences and as God's Holy Spirit has testified to me that it is true. Each doctrine of the Gospel can be prayed about and I know that God will answer those prayers. There is a living prophet on the earth today. He is a prophet just as Moses was. He speaks for God and lets us know what God wants us to do. I love the safety I have from following the prophet.

How I live my faith

The neighborhood I live in is fantastic. There is such a wonderful variety of people from different backgrounds and religions. My family and I have enjoyed hosting activities that bring our neighborhood together. We love the cooler weather months because more of our neighbors are outside and that gives all of us the opportunity to enjoy each other's company. Loving our neighbors is easy when we remember that we are all children of a loving God. I love the opportunity I have to be assigned a few specific women from church to get to know. Over the years these women have become some of my closest friends. I enjoy getting to know these women and learning to love them. I have taught the youth at church, particularly the young women, much of my adult life. I love their energy and excitement for life. I am humbled as I have watched their strength as they face all the "normal" teenage challenges. I am grateful for their love of God and their diligence in living as God wants them to.
