Hi I'm Jacquie

I'm a Mormon. I am a widow. I am over retirement age.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church all of my life. I have ancestors who were in the Church from the beginning. Following the Church movement from New York, Missouri, Nauvoo, Utah, Arizona, Idaho and Washington. I married a convert, who had a great conversion story and who had a great testimony all of his life. He was a farmer and inventor. Because he had suffered Polio at an early age he needed to find ways to do things differently. He therefore invented and built equipment to allow him to do the work that was needed. I have been a bookkeeper all of my adult life. Working for others as well as having my own bookkeeping service for over 50 years. I have a loving family of two daughters and one son, their spouses and seven grandchildren. We lost a son who was only six weeks old. I have the distinction of being the eldest grandchild on both sides of my family. This has given me a unique growing up experience.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into the church can be a blessing. I was fortunate to have loving grandparents, aunts and uncles who were concerned about me and my testimony. Living in a part member family there were times that Mother could not get us to church. During my teen years those aunts and uncles gave me rides to the youth activities. I was also given things to do at an early age. I was the Sunday School secretary at age 10. Handwriting was not good, but it did improve. Because of this early training, I never expected not to marry in the Temple and that was one of my goals. I met my husband at a church dance and we were happily married for over 47 years until his death. My testimony is that I know the Church to be true. That the Prophet of the Church is divinely inspired and gives to the members of the church those principles that they need to incorporate into their lives so that they may return to their Father in Heaven. I know that Jesus Christ was my redeemer and that without the atonement we would not be able to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven. I know that my husband and I are married for eternity and that our infant son is sealed to us in the eternities. That our living children are also sealed to us in the eternities.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the church through out my life. Secretary, counselor, teacher. I am now responsible in e-mailing weekly the women of the congregation with an update of a calendar, announcements, summaries of Sunday lessons and other information to help them through the week. I am involved in community politics. Have helped plan weddings for friends. I am involved in Family History. I am the secretary/treasurer of the local cemetery association. When my children were in school I was involved in the PTA and other parents groups. Through out the years I have also been involved in other community groups.
