Hi I'm Marilyn

I'm a Mormon. I have been married since 1979 to an incredible man and have five sons, two daughter in laws and four grandkids.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man and we have so much fun with our five sons, two daughter in laws and four grand kids. We love to get together and talk about the Gospel or other issues. I totally love being with my family and having fun and open discussions with each other. We love to scuba dive together. I love being with family, friends and especially being in nature. I have been a counselor since 2001 and love it. I learn something new everyday from my clients and have learned to view people so much more from a place of empathy and support instead of judgment. I especially love seeing them heal through trauma and experience couples healing and drawing closer to each other. I work with the Young Women in our church and enjoy their great spirits and what they teach me. When i get a free moment, I love to make jewelry. I also love to play with our three dogs and one cat.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel like I was born with a testimony of the Savior and His divinity. But as a teenager I had to read, study and pray to know that Joseph Smith truly saw God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I have a very deep and profound testimony that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and I love the scriptures. I have a great reverence for the prophets in the latter days, but also in the scriptures. I have grown to love and respect the personalities and trials that Nephi, Mormon, Moroni, Peter, Abraham and so many others. They inspire me to meet my trials with humility, courage and love. I have a very deep love and testimony of the temple. The blessings that are promised there are such a profound part of my life and a huge part of my testimony of the Lord's restored church. I know with every breath that I take, that my Savior lived and died for me and that His Atonement is infinite and Eternal. He is my strength and my Salvation. Anything that I have or do that is good- is a merciful gift from Him. Without Him I am nothing and yet with Him I can do all that I am called to do. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and that in offering His Son for me was His greatest gift of love. I know that I am His daughter and of infinite worth and importance to Him. My relationship with Him is very personal and real. I am very humbled by the many gifts He gives to me every day.

How I live my faith

I am the strongest when I recognize to the Lord of how weak I am without His strength and am constantly asking for His help and guidance. As I grow closer to Him, I see myself and others in a different light. I become less judgmental and more loving as I see myself and others as sons and daughters of God. The longer I live, the more I come to know how important supporting and loving each other is. When I am close to the Savior, I try harder to be a loving wife and mother. I try to see others the way that the Savior sees them. I want my words and feelings to be respectful and full of love. I love the open discussions we have with our kids with their views on life and experiences they are having. We try to make our home where different views are respected on different topics and that it is safe to share your views. I love spending time with our kids, their spouses and grandchildren. Each one is an example to me and I learn so much from them. I love reading the scriptures with my husband in the morning and spending time with him. I can never keep up with how much my husband serves me, but I try. I love working with the Young Women in our ward. They have so much enthusiasm and energy. I enjoy teaching them and learning from them. I feel the Saviors love so strong when I am in the temple, in our home and out in His creation. My life is very busy, I have to slow down everyday so that I can connect to myself and to Him and remember.
