Hi I'm Chantel

I'm a daughter, a sister, a native Arizonan, a student, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm the middle child, and only girl. I have one older brother and one younger brother. It took three days after my birth for the hospital to get another girl, so I've been surrounded by boys for a long time. I grew up in Chandler, Arizona. We moved there when I was five years old and it quickly became home. I developed a love for writing, and I am an avid reader. I have an excellent memory and am great at spelling as well. English and history are my best subjects. I want to be a teacher, and my goal is to teach Kindergarten.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. However, my testimony was gained when I was twelve years old. I listened to a talk in church about finding out for ourselves if the church was true and not relying on what our parents believed. So, I prayed for an answer. As I got up later in another meeting to bear my testimony, I was overwhelmed with a feeling of peace. Tears came to my eyes, and I just knew. As sure as I knew my own name, I knew and I continue to know with all my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on this Earth. It is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. That has been testified to me through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what I know to be right. I try my hardest to treat everyone kindly and have a Christlike attitude. I attend church and church activities. While I am not perfect, I do practice what I preach. If I believe something, I live it. It's a part of who I am. It's more than a religion. It's my heart and soul. I fight for it. I would die for it. I love the Church very much.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Just like the Bible talks about prophets of old such as Moses and Abraham, we believe that the Lord has called a prophet in our time to speak to us personally. Joseph Smith was the first prophet since the church was restored in its fullness. He translated the Book of Mormon. At the age of fourteen, he saw God and Jesus Christ in a vision and they told him that none of the churches on the Earth at the time were true. They prepared him to restore Christ's gospel to the Earth. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes. Jesus Christ is the center and foundation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is our Lord and Savior. He is the only perfect being who has ever walked the earth. He is the living Son of the living God. He atoned for our sins. He died on the cross. He was resurrected. We pray in his name. We worship in his name. Show more Show less
