Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in Oklahoma. I love hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and just being outside. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being outside. I love pheasant and rabbit hunting. My Dad is a pilot in Malaysia right now. I am currently in the Philippines Quezon City North Mission doing my very best to help people understand how the message of the Restoration can bless there lives. I have not attend collage yet, but I will when I get home.I thinking about following in my Dad's footsteps, and becoming a pilot. I am learning the language of Tagalog, and hoping that after my mission I can find a way to use it in my future career as well as helping the church. My mom is a stay at home Mom, and I couldn't be more happy about that. I am hoping to make enough money so that my future wife can stay home with our kids so that they in turn can see the blessing of always having someone meet you at the bus, and be there for you at all your baseball games even when you lose. I am also a big brother, and setting a good example for my brothers and sister is a job I take very seriously. I am hoping that they see the Lord in my live as I give all my time to the Lord that they will want to follow in my footsteps as a full time missionary. Something worked because my little Brother is leaving in October for his own two year mission in central American speaking Spanish. I looking forward to speaking to him Tagalog while he speaks Spanish to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but even through both my parents are members a fact that I am very grateful of. I still wanted to know that the church was true. I remember as a young boy sitting outside on a swing asking the Lord to have a bird fly by so that I would know if the church was true or not. Well one night I was tired of not knowing, and I knelt in prayer and explained to the Lord that I had to know one way or the other if the church was true or not. I had been baptized, and I wanted to know if all the things that my parents had always taught me was correct or not. That night the spirit of the Lord rested upon me insomuch that I know it was true. After that I listened much better at church, and paid more attention to things people said at church. Because I knew for myself that the church was true. That the Book of Mormon was the word of God. That Joseph Smith was the Lord's prophet, and that I was in the Lord's church. Since then I have felt the spirit of the Lord tell me many times that I am doing the right thing, and that I am making a difference in the lives of people here in the Philippines. I love the church because in the world things always change friends come and go, but it is here in this church the Church of Jesus Christ that I learned that I can be together with my family forever even after I die. I love my family with all my heart that is why I want to live worthy so that I can stand as a light unto this people here who stand in so much need of the peace of the restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I am an Eagle Scout, and have been involved in so many service project I can't even count them all. However it's from my Dad that I gained a love for helping people. He is always bring me along with him to help some one move, or to help someone who is in need. We have mowed lawns for people who couldn't mow there own due to age. Fixed a disabled ladies mailbox after people broke it as a prank. We repaired it in order for the ambulance to be able to find her house in case of an emergency. He has taught me that it is through serving people that we find true joy. That is why when the time came for me to decide if I wanted to serve a mission it was a easy choice. Even if it meant leaving my family for two years to go serve in a foreign land I was willing to do that because when I was young I learned that when you are in the service of your fellow man you are only service of your god. I thank my Heavenly father often because of the great people He has put in my life to help guide me. Many of them being members of the church.
