Hi I'm Crystal

I'm a happy wife and mom. I'm a fun seeker. I'm a good friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to laugh and to make others laugh. Spending time with my husband and four kids is my favorite activity. It can be hiking, camping, biking, walking with them or just heading out on a new local adventure. I also love to play basketball weekly with friends and stay up late at night to finish a really good book. I don't think I really have a great, outstanding talent, but I do like to learn new things and can do many things just "good enough"!

Why I am a Mormon

As a small child, my family was taught by Mormon missionaries and my parents joined the Church. I was baptized at eight years old and grew up in a strong community with many LDS people. It never seemed difficult for me to live the Gospel because it felt right to continue making good choices. When I was a young teenager, I had some troubling family experiences. I realized then that I needed to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true and if I really had a Heavenly Father who cared about me and loved me for who I was. I read, prayed and begged for a feeling of safety and comfort. Sweet comfort came. Many leaders and friends in the Church unknowingly helped me gain a true testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have continued to live the gospel principles my entire life because I know that happiness and peace come only from obedience to God. I have felt my heart burn many times when I hear the Prophet speak, when I read the book of Mormon, when I have testified of Joseph Smith. I love to read and think about our Savior, Jesus Christ and God's plan of happiness. It makes sense to me, both in my mind and in my heart.

How I live my faith

I once had a neighbor tell me. "Being a Mormon isn't a religion, it's a lifestyle." Well, she was right. Being a member of the LDS Church is my religion but it is also my way of life and it is a lifestyle that brings great happiness. Our family tries to live a Christ-like life everyday, not just on Sundays or when we are at church meetings. I try to make my manner of dress, my speech, my actions reflect the belief inside that Jesus is the Savior of the World and that every person is a child of a Heavenly Father. I try to be a good neighbor, a good friend and a good community member. My job, or calling, at church is to organize the teaching of children ages 18 months-12 years old. It is a great challenge and a great blessing! I love to teach children about God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.
