Hi I'm Mike Rainey

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Southern California but now live in the Pacific Northwest. I went to BYU, sell boats and love sports.

About Me

From my youth I have had a soft spot in my heart for anything relating to Jesus. I grew up loving physical activity, all sports, especially dirt bike riding. I left those activities to serve a mission in Texas and learned to love the Texas people. Finished a BS in Finance at BYU and took my new bride and first child to Southern California. Raised a family, worked as an accountant, played sports ( Flag football, Softball and Adult Hardball, Swam Masters and rekindled my love of dirt bike riding, (at the age of 50 I raced my first Motocross race at Carlsbad Ca. and won it!) I have spent many years as a scout leader and teaching the boys, especially loved teaching them to sail Hobie Cats. Moved to the Pacific Northwest for its wonderful natural resources, I now do a little accounting but mostly design and sell custom boats. We have 15 grand children and travel all over visiting them.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a warm spot in my heart anything religious and when I was eight years old my mom was baptized and my dad became active. From then on I was raised LDS and loved it. My testimony grew as I learned, prayed and practiced my faith. It makes sense to me to be a child of God and to strive to be like him. For me to strive to live a Christ like life also makes for a happier and more fulfilling life.

How I live my faith

I have partisipated in many church assignments through out my life, serving as a Scout Master was great and also working in the Temple, I enjoy doing things rather than being in meetings. I mostly live my faith by trying to be a good husband, father, brother, grandfather and son.
