Hi I'm Jason

I live in Mesa, Arizona and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Las Vegas. I'm the youngest of 5 kids. I served a two-year mission in Italy after which I finished bachelors and masters degrees in finance. I'm married and have three children, and I work full-time for an airline, which means life is busy. When I get spare time (hardly ever), I enjoy activities such as hiking and camping. 'Busy' pretty much describes my life. I do have a love for playing percussion, and I hope to pick up that hobby again some day. For the time being, I just try to work hard, keep my family as happy as possible and deal with the every day challenges of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have to say that I really love being a member of this church. The gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life in so many ways. We talk about the Spirit of God a lot, and for good reason. The Spirit really is the key to finding truth and answers to our questions. When I was really young, hearing others talk about how the Spirit had touched their lives was hard for me to understand. It was really abstract to me. It wasn't until I experienced it on my own that I realized just how hard it was to describe with words. Even more surprising was how a power that was clearly not my own could enter inside of me and cause such strong feelings of warmth and love unlike any I had ever felt before. Up to that point in my life, I had learned things by reading or being taught by someone, but in this particular moment I had learned by feeling...and that was a first for me. Somehow I came away from that experience knowing that I was on the path I was supposed to be on. I had a conviction that God knew me personally and He was there to guide me. That experience taught me that there was indeed a real, living prophet on the earth. I've since learned that real, lasting happiness only comes when I'm living my life in line with the gospel of Jesus Christ. So, to answer the question of why I'm a Mormon...it's because it makes me happy because I know my purpose

How I live my faith

I volunteer as a Boy Scout leader to help teenage boys achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. I think the Boy Scout program is a wonderful tool for building character and leadership in the youth, and I like to believe that helping them reach their goals is contributing positively to our community and the future of our nation.
