Hi I'm Shaylee

I love to travel. I enjoy helping and supporting others in any way that I can. I am a proud Aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I am the oldest of five children and I love my family with all my heart! I graduated with my degree from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. I moved to Washington state a few years ago and I work in the accounting department at an engineering firm. I am blessed to be an aunt to a couple adorable toddlers and they keep me visiting Utah on a regular basis! I love to travel and have been to Europe a few times. I had the opportunity to travel to Italy last summer with one of my friends and it was beautiful! It is one of my favorite places. I grew up with family vacations spent camping in the mountains and at Lake Powell and I love anything related to either place: boating, skiing, swimming, 4-wheeling, hiking and just spending time with family. I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking, dancing, visiting new places, going to the beach and spending time with my friends. I love and appreciate the beauty of this amazing world and all it has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the strength and the peace it brings to my life. I was raised in the church but my family didn't always attend on a regular basis. As I made attending church and studying the gospel a priority in my life I came to know and understand that I am a daughter of God. I started to understand just how much He loves me and how aware He is of me and my life. I discovered that He hears my prayers and He answers them in the way He knows is best for me. I learned about my Savior, Jesus Christ, who loved me enough to suffer and sacrifice His life for me. I came to appreciate the strength of a young boy named Joseph Smith who had the courage to ask God through prayer to know the truth and then to act on the answer he received. I read and studied the Book of Mormon and know that I can find the answers and direction that I am looking for in my life. I receive such joy from following the commandments of God and striving to be the best person that I can. Living the gospel makes me happy and I know that it is the right thing for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis in many different ways. I live my faith by studying the gospel through the scriptures and the words of the prophets and apostles. I live my faith by reaching out to those around me and sharing my love with them. I live my faith by striving to follow the example that Jesus Christ set for me. I attend my church meetings every week and I am responsible for taking care of the women in my branch. I get to organize activities and lessons for these women to help build up and strengthen their faith and testimonies. I am so grateful for my faith and I receive blessings daily for choosing to live according to my Heavenly Father's plan.
