Hi I'm John McCleve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father living in Arizona. I have 9 siblings. (Eight sisters and one brother). I have four children and one grandchild. All of my children are now gone from home. Two are married, one on a mission serving the Lord in Chile, and my youngest at school getting her education. I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been very blessed to be raised in the church and to have a family who loves and cares about me. I am married to a wonderful woman who loves me and helps me to be a better person. When I was 19 years of age I was called by a prophet of God to serve a mission in the New York, New York City Mission. I had a wonderful experience there meeting people and sharing the truths of the gospel with them. Life is not always easy but I know with the Lord's help we can be faithful in keeping the commandments and return and live with him someday. I am a mechanic. I have an associate degree in Automotive Science. I have worked many jobs in several areas. I worked several years as a school bus mechanic, and then several years as manager for the school bus operation. I presently work as a facility mechanic performing repairs needed on church buildings. A few years ago I decided to ride a bicycle for exercise. I now ride many miles a week training for various races and charity rides. I'm not very competitive with it but have a lot of fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon (a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) because I know it is the Lord's church and kingdom on the earth. I know the Lord established his church on the earth when he was here with prophets and apostles. The church organization that existed at that time was taken from the earth through the apostasy of the people. Through the prophet Joseph Smith the Lord restored the same church with prophets and apostles. I know through personal revelation the church of Jesus Christ was restored in its fullness. As I live the principles that were revealed I can learn and grow and come closer to my Father in heaven. Through the building of temples and the restoration of the sealing power and authority, I am sealed to my family for the eternities. This brings me and my family great happiness.

How I live my faith

Being active in the church is my life. As I have come to recognize the blessings that come to me and my family by living the teachings of the gospel, I rejoice knowing the consequences are eternal. As I serve my fellow man I know I am in the service of my God. As I look at my family and the good people they have become, I thank the Lord for the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which gives us guidance and direction for our lives. The world is not a family friendly place in a lot of ways. Living the gospel is a refuge from the many evils around us. When I am in the temple of God for the wedding of one of my children or other occasions, I am at peace knowing the Lord has provided a way for all of his children to return to his presence.
