Hi I'm Jaime

I am a native Western Washingtonian. I am a daughter, sister and aunt (my fav.) I'm a flight nurse by profession and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy running and doing the occasional organized run/marathon. It helps me stay motivated, especially since another hobby of mine is eating- I love food and trying new cuisine. I also enjoy traveling, especially to London and Hawaii, and really anywhere new :) I am blessed to live near my family and I love being an aunt to my 6 nieces and 1 nephew. I graduated from BYU in 2000- the Y was a great experience but being a native Seattlite, I love the University of Washington and I bleed purple. I work as a flight nurse for an air medical transport company- a career that I have enjoyed and found to be fulfilling in many ways as I have the opportunity to help others in various unique and challenging situations.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts to the Mormon church and I was raised in the church. I was taught gospel principles growing up and I accepted them pretty easily. But at some point I had to decide for myself if what I was taught was true. I always felt that I had a Heavenly Father (God) who loves me and listened to my prayers but I needed to know that this church was true. For me, I think it all comes down to the Book of Mormon. As I read those pages I know that it is true. I know that these ancient prophets really did live and they really did make great sacrifices to record these words from God. I feel so strongly that this book, as well as the Bible is a gift from God, His way of helping me know His plan for me and how I can be happy in this life and the life to come. If this book is true then this church is true- it is that simple. And the Book of Mormon is true. I have felt it even in the darkest moments of my life. At times when I have struggled I have read from those pages and I know they are true and real. And that is the guide for my life. I love that my Heavenly Father has given me these scriptures. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and his sacrifice so that I can be whole again- that I can be forgiven when I make mistakes. I have felt this forgiveness in my life and I know that he has been there for me and I can always turn to Him. What a loving God we have! I hope we all know of His love for us.

How I live my faith

My faith has been a big part of my life and I have been fortunate to participate in many ways. I addition to weekly Sunday meetings, I have been able to teach sunday school to the young children, I have been able to play the piano as an accompaniment to the hymns, and more recently I have been able to work with the teenagers. I join them for weekly activities, camps and church classes. They are so fun to be around. We do lots of different things- service projects, gospel study classes, and other fun activities like dances and game nights. I love their positive spirits and I definitely feel like I get more out of working with them than anything they get from me. Our youth have so much potential and they will do great things in the future. I also try to remember my faith and God in all my day to day activities. His commandments and guidance are not just for Sunday but for every aspect of our lives- work, family, friendships, ect... I want to be close to Him at all times.
