Hi I'm Bekah Parker

I am from Mesa, Arizona. I am a speech therapist. I am the 2nd of 5 children and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 26 years old and I am from Mesa Arizona. I graduated from BYU in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. I am Speech Language Pathologist-Limited at a school district. I love what I do and it keeps me busy. I help children communicate more correctly and more effectively in their academic environment which will hopefully carry over into their everyday life...which obviously impacts their entire world. I have 1 sister, 3 brothers, and 3 nephews with another one due in October. I love my family. They mean the world to me. My siblings are my greatest friends. We are incredibly close. My mom is my best friend and an incredible example in my life. I enjoy cooking, reading, swimming, running, spinning, and spending time with my family and friends. Working out and staying fit is a priority in my life. It is a large stress relief for me. I enjoy movies, eating out and I play the piano which has been a great blessing in my life. I consider my friends a great blessing in my life as well. I feel Heavenly Father has always blessed me with incredible friends from childhood to high school, college and post-college. I have an amazing support system and I consider many of the my close friends like sisters. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was 18 years old. I underwent chemotherapy treatment for 9 months. It was an incredibly difficult experience but I am better person because of it. It was my refiner's fire and I am grateful to be alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had many spiritual experiences that have confirmed and sealed in my heart that this is Christ's church and the only true and living church on the earth today. This has only happened through the power of the Holy Ghost. The Gospel provides me the perspective, direction, peace and joy in a very troubled, evil and morally corrupt world. It gives me the perspective that this life is only temporary and every trial we experience is not wasted. It is for our growth and refinement. We existed before we came to this world and there is life after this one. We can hopefully return to live with our Heavenly Father someday based on how we live our life here on this earth. The Gospel provides the direction I need to live a good, productive and meaningful life. I know that if I am obedient to the promises and covenants I have made with Heavenly Father, I will be safe from temptations and from the pain and sorry from poor choices. I will be able to live a happier and clean life. The Gospel makes me happy! God lives, he loves us and He knows us each very intimately. He knows us by name and He just wants us to come unto Him and be happy. He restored His Gospel through Joseph Smith and we have modern prophets today to lead and guide us and provide the counsel we need to be happy, safe and more like Him! I am grateful for my Savior and for His supreme example. I hope to try and live everyday so I can be more like Him!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending a singles ward in my area. I teach a class called, "Marriage and Family" and even though I am not married, I am learning a lot from the lessons and how to one day be a good wife and mother. I try and find opportunities to serve others and lift their burdens as much as I can. I serve as a temple (ordinance) worker in the Mesa, Arizona temple every Friday. I love the temple and I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve in His house. It is His house and His work and I am grateful to be apart of it!
