Hi I'm Jesus O

I am a convert and have been a Mormon since February 2005

About Me

Eventhough I live in Arizona I love to snowboard. I dream of the slopes all year round and can never get enough when I am on them. I learned to snowboard on the Swiss Alps next to the Matterhorn mountain when I was stationed in Germany while in the Army. I currently work as a PC Support Technician and love my job. I love the problem solving of daily PC issues and interacting with the end users at my company.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because being so saved my life. I didn't grow up in a positive atmosphere and getting in trouble was very easy. When I about 12 or 13, I searched for God and sought answers to find out why I had such a hard life, I was asked to leave my former church because I asked too many questions that they could not answer. I studied with varies dominant religions in my hometown and all would avoid me sooner or later. I then came to a conclusion that there was no God. I lived my life without any consequences, vowed to experience life so that I would never go through a midlife crisis. In the military friends would tell me someone was praying for me to keep me out of harm’s way. I would quickly respond I don't believe in any of that. I left the Army and came to Arizona to further my education. This opened many doors and I even had a small business after graduating A client of mine attempted to share the Gospel with me in Oct 2005 and I quickly rejected his message. I told him I had searched for God earlier in my life and didn't find him and was happy the way I was living now. In January 06 I went to a self-help program in Utah. I met very special people there and especially a girl. At my request shared with me what the LDS believes were. It had been some 15 years since I had stopped asking questions to find God and she answered them (without me asking) even in the order I had asked them growing up. I knew I had found what I had stopped searching for so long. The next day we went to Temple Square and as she gave me a tour, I marveled at the majestic SLC Temple and heard a still small voice which said "Jesus, you belong in this building” I asked my friend what this building was and if we could go in. She explained "that is a Temple, it is the House of God, and you have to be found worthy and chosen to go in, so no we can’t" That day I made my first promise with God that I would do whatever it took to be found worthy. I was baptized a month later.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living it, I try my best to be a good example and share it when I can. I currently serve as a Ward Mission Leader (help teach investigators and teach new converts with other missionaries). As a convert I joined the church too late to go on a mission like most young men in the church, so I know the Lord has blessed me with this opportunity to serve a mission. . I try to be my best always and when people ask me why I am so happy all the time I simple respond with " Cause I am Mormon, and know that God loves me" this leads to them asking how its I became to be Mormon and I share with them a part of my conversion story. I also try my best to live my live worthy to enter the Holy Temple always and look forward to the day I am blessed to be married in it. My family which aren’t members have seen the positive and happy go lucky me arise from the ashes of the person I use to be and support me and even proudly tell their friends and my family of how happy they are that I found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints.
