Hi I'm Brooke

I like to travel. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoying being with my husband of forty-two years and our eight children (our four and the their spouses). My favorite thing to do is to associate with my 15 grandchildren as they grow. Together we share time playing at the beach, going to the mountains, celebrating holidays and 'spur of the moment' activities. I enjoy exercising, reading, travelling and quilting.

Why I am a Mormon

My family joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the kid-1800s. I have wanted to discover truthfulness for my own benefit. I have realized beauty and simplicity in the truthfulness of the revealed and scriptural doctrines. I have sought answers for my own life to gain a more clear understanding. I have received them from my reading and studying of the Bible, the Book of Mormon and through the words of the living prophets of today. I know that when I pray to my Heavenly Father, when I pause and recognize my feelings, I know that I am being heard and I feel loved by Him. I have had opportunities to be very aware of His love. I know that He and His Son, Jesus Christ live and love each of us individually. I know that the power of the Holy Ghost is very real and significant. I am grateful for life and the opportunities I have had that have helped me build a better understanding of Heavenly Father through the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Ghost. I am grateful to be able to gain knowledge as I have desired. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings peace and greater clarity to my observations of life. I am content and joyful in being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have served, taught, and enjoyed working with the youth of the Church since I was about 15 years old when my sisters and I would help our mother teach and serve the childrens organization during weekday activities after school and during the Summer. The opportunities I have had to teach youth have been invaluable. Friendships, respect and understanding have grown. Each experience has contributed to my personal understanding, sensitivity for the feelings of others and to establish a greater conviction for self-improvement. I have seen understanding enlightened as good principles and standards have been taught. I have seen commitment deepen and increase because of a change of heart. My heart has softened as I have witnessed the growth of others as they draw closer to God. Service to my family is my priority. The joy of my day was is to see a need one might have and be willing and able to help. I love answering a phone call from one of my granddaughters just to chat and share ideas. I am grateful that my husband has made it possible for me to be a 'stay-at-home' mom and now grandma. All of our daughters are now doing the same. I am grateful that they and our sons are making the sacrifices necessary to do so. It is truly a challenge at times. But to have a secure comfort base for the children is as important as ever.
