Hi I'm Paul

I'm a Professor, blogger, 4-Her, learning enthusiast, comedian, family man,and gadget junkie. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a fun, loving, husband and father. I'm also your typical geek. I have to admit, I really love school! I just enjoy learning, it's like a hobby for me. After I got an MBA and conquered the business world I decided to become a professor and teach youth life skills. This brings me so much satisfaction. Part of being a nerd is being incredibly organized, I love to plan and always keep busy. But I make sure I plan enough time for family...and to read and blog - it's my way of relaxing and thinking. I grew up in a congested city, but I've settled into the small-town life and absolutely love it. It's wonderful to live in a community where everyone knows you and you know them. I have the most beautiful and magnificently talented wife - she is my dream girl! I never thought I could meet someone who could make me feel so happy, I want to be a better person because of her. We have a little boy and another one the way. My family fulfills me.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I am a child of God, it's a simple fact. I believe that He has a plan for me and for all of His children here on Earth. I believe that this life is a test and that I must prove myself worthy in order to return to live in God's presence with my family. I've come to believe, through the power of the Holy Spirit, much prayer, fasting and scripture study that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly God's living church on the Earth today. The doctrines of the Mormon church have clearly answered all of the questions I've asked about who I am, where I came from and where I'm going. It's my testimony that God lives and he cares about all of us. He sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to atone for my sins and yours. It's only through coming unto him will we be able to return to the Father. Jesus Christ has risen and now leads and guides His church today through worthy Prophets and Apostles.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Mormon church as a Clerk for my local Ward congregation. I have been trusted to handle the administration side of things so my Bishop and his counselors can minister to those people they have stewardship over, whether they be Mormons or not. I spend a lot of time managing the tithes and offerings that members donate to the church. I see first hand how these financial offerings bless those who are sick and afflicted. I write the checks that provide food, shelter and clothing for those in need. I see first hand the generosity of my fellow Mormons to people they don't even know. Besides my administrative duties, I visit other families in my congregation and teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ in their homes, I check in on them and help them in any way I can. I also pick peaches from time to time at the local orchard the church owns in my town. The peaches get canned and sent all over the world to those who are in need. They're the best peaches money can't buy.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Paul
I serve in the church as a Clerk. I personally write checks every week that go to the sick and afflicted, mormons and non-mormons alike, to pay for food, housing, utilities, clothing, and medical costs. Show more Show less
