Hi I'm Ray

In the early 1900's my family homesteaded near what is now Glacier National Park. I am a test engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of six children... five living. My wife and I are high school sweethearts and she remained true to me while I served a two year mission in Brazil. I enjoy being a father and now have seven grand children. Camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, huckleberry picking and relaxing on the homestead are some of my favorite activities. My work involves writing detailed test procedures and conducting test on systems where there are no second chances to get it right. I enjoy all sports but have a passion for soccer, and coached youth leagues for seventeen years.

Why I am a Mormon

It's July 4th and I'm lying on a hospital gurney in the hallway waiting for my turn to be tended to...after having fallen 70 feet out of a tree and landing on my head, I should be dead, the pain in my neck, back and side is immense, I can't straighten my legs my head is covered in blood. My wife has called for two brethren from the church to come and give me a priesthood blessing. As they began the blessing a healing power that can only come from God poured down thru my head, neck, back, side and legs and I knew that everything vital to keep me alive had been healed at that moment. I know that through this church everyone can enjoy the blessings of the priesthood of God. I know that God lives, we are all his children and he cares about each individual on this earth. I have studied the Book of Mormon and gained a testimony that the people and events described therein really did happen. I know that God called Joseph Smith to establish once again Christ's church upon the earth that we might all enjoy the blessings of the Gospel and Priesthood.

How I live my faith

As my children were growing up I served in the community as a soccer coach it was a challenge but great fun to help the youth gain confidence, develop skills and master talents in the sport, I do miss those days. Over the years I have had many opportunities to serve in church callings such as nursery teacher, primary teacher, Sunday school teacher, scout master, young men's leader, and as a clerk maintaining church records. I enjoy the opportunity to serve in the Lord's church, attending the temple periodically, gathering with family for Sunday dinners, sharing each others burdens and celebrating the good times. It is good to be alive, to know that God lives and that as we strive to follow in Christ's footsteps we can prepare ourselves to return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ his son.
