Hi I'm Tom

I'm a Mormon. I'm a fifth generation member of the Church.

About Me

I'm the father of six children and grandfather of three. I served in the US Army and have lived all over the world. We lived all over the US, in Germany, and Korea. We have loved everyplace we lived in and loved serving our neighbors. Our ward in Alabama was called on a mission by a member of the Presiding Bishopric in 1984. The Relief Society went door-to-door during the day and their husbands and sons would teach in the evenings. We were able to bring over forty new members into the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed the Church is true. I believed the First Vision account of Joseph Smith and that the Book of Mormon was of God. When I was 18 years old I experienced a powerful manifestation of the Holy Ghost that testified to me that the Church was true, that the Prophet (Harold B. Lee) was called of God and that the Book of Mormon was true. It testified to me that I needed to serve a mission which I did, serving in the Spain, Mission. While on my mission I met my future wife who was serving a full-time mission in Spain, too. She is a convert to the Church and, together, we have always made the Church one of the most important part of our lives.

How I live my faith

I enjoyed working with our sons in the Boy Scout organizations sponsored by the Church. While our children were growing up many of our family activities revolved around service projects sponsored by the Church. All of our children have grown up to be diligent workers and service oriented.
