Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon. I am deaf. I have been a member since November 1992. I am single. I enjoy watching sports.

About Me

I am a Mormon, trying to be a strong member that God can be proud of. I enjoy teaching people many things about various things. I feel that God has given me a gift of teaching because He wants me to share my gifts with other members who want to learn the gospel. I do use ASL as my first language to communicate with people. I am a laid off teacher aide looking for a job in the deaf community. I enjoy watching movies that can inspire me, like true stories. I am a very shy person and want to meet new people and try new experiences. I like to travel and see the wonderful things God has created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised with no religious influence in my life. I always suspected that God was watching me daily, and one night sister missionaries came to my parents house and shared their testimony with me and I suddenly knew it was the truth. They showed me a Joseph Smith cartoon movie and I fell in love with it. I told the sisters to come back weekly, and I was ready for my baptism but my parents would not allow it. For 10 years, from when I was 12, they tried to stop me from being baptized. One day while sitting in a plane, I looked outside the window at the clouds. I heard a voice say I would be baptized in Washington DC. Three days before Thanksgiving I finally became a Mormon. It was a long journey for me! I testify that becoming a Mormon is worth it in our lives because it can help us become close to our Heavenly Father in our lives and after we die .

How I live my faith

I live my faith through thinking of Him daily in my life. I seldom go to church regularly but still make an effort to go there more regularly. I am a weak Mormon but still strive to stay on the straight path to the tree which was in Lehi's vision. Everyone can eat the precious fruit that tastes very sweet and wonderful if they want to desire to reach the goal. I know staying on the path can be hard to stay on because we are not perfect. We all have our flaws, but if we want to see Him again, we can try our best to stay on it. I hope that someday I can live with Him through my faith and my works because I really want to enjoy his kingdom when I am in heaven or wherever He will choose for me.
