Hi I'm Susan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the church. My husband and I were baptized in October of 1973. When I was baptized we had 3 children. We now have 5 children and 17 grandchildren. I love to do any kind of crafts. I recently took a quilting class and loved it. I like to experiment in cooking on my husband who just retired. I love being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned, I'm a convert to the church. I knew a lot of Mormons in High School, but the gospel was not shared. After I was married we had good friends that were Mormons. They accepted us for who we were. But it took our neighbor, who was investigating the church themselves, to invite the missionaries to our home. We sure gave them a rough time, but I knew that what they were teaching us was true. I wanted that for me and my family. Joining the church was the best thing that ever happened me, other than my husband and family.

How I live my faith

I've held various positions in the church that have provided me opportunities to serve others that have been very rewarding. I've taught youth and adults. As you teach others you're also learning the gospel yourself. At the moment I have the opportunity to serve my mother who is 93. I know that I want to serve my mother as the Savior served so many. I've learned how to love one another as our Savior taught. I try to be the best person I can. I've had the opportunity to attend several General Conferences in Salt Lake City. We've started a tradition. When our grandchildren turn 12 we take them to General Conference. We've got to take 5 of our 17 so far. We want to provide our grandchildren the opportunity to personally see and hear a prophet of the Lord and to feel the influence of the Holy Ghost as they are seeing and listening to all of the Lords servants. I try to live my faith through love and service. I love my family and the church.
