Hi I'm Donna.

I am a native Arizonan but have lived in several other areas in the Western United States. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a grant coordinator for a high school located in a rural community in Northeastern Arizona. I started my career in education as a history teacher and I was pursuing a degree in Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Counseling when I was offered the grant coordinator's position which has been a great blessing in my life. I get to work with some of the youth of our society on a daily basis in teaching them how to overcome adversity in their lives. I love to travel (by car) and one of my dreams is to eventually travel to every state in the U.S. and to all of the Canadian Provinces. I love to garden, read, and I love listening to music. I especially love listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the East Valley Mormon Choral. I am married to a very wonderful man who supports me in my endeavors and is the greatest blessing, next to the gospel, in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church but as I reached my later teen years, I became inactive. This was a choice that I regretted for many years. After meeting the man that I would eventually marry, who was not a member of the Church, I knew in my heart that I needed to return to the Church if i were to ever find peace in my life. My soon-to-be husband was very interested in the Church and we began to take the missionary lessons together. Soon we were married and he was baptized immediately after our wedding. It took some time but we were eventually sealed in the temple for all time and eternity. Today, I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day saints and I know peace! Not that my life is always smooth sailing but at least I know that my Heavenly Father and that my Savior loves me and that I can seek counsel and comfort from them during the trials that I encounter in life. I know that the gospel has been restored in its fullest here on earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith and that we have a living Prophet today in President Monson.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Church today. Aside from attending my regular Sabbath Day meetings, I also participate in a wonderful Family Home Evening group which consists of 4 couple in all. We take turns preparing and conducting lessons related to the gospel and I come away from that weekly session knowing how blessed I am to be a part of such a wonderful organization as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Most importantly, I try to live my life each day as if I might be the only example of what a Mormon "looks like" to people who may not know that much about who we are. I ask myself daily, "How would the Savior have me act today?" and then I go forward to try and live my life as how I believe the Savior would have me do.
