Hi I'm Chris

I'm a first year law student, I have 3 kids, I love to fly fish, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the second oldest of five children, I grew up in a suburb outside of Denver, Colorado. I enjoy the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hiking. I am an avid fly fisherman and I love to tie my own flies. I went to college in Idaho and graduated in Business. After working some time I went to graduate school in Colorado. I was laid off and unemployed for two years, and have just recently started my first year of law school. I want to work in either corporate law or sports law when I graduate. My wife and I dated five years, through high school and some of college, before we were married. We have three children and I enjoy being a father and a husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because I have received a confirmation that the teachings of the gospel are true. I love reading and studying the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. Going to church just feel right! I know that President Monson is inspired by Heavenly Father to guide the church on the earth. The gospel has given me hope through some of the tough times I have had. Over the past couple years, while being unemployed, I have been able to cling to my beliefs. I know that Heavenly Father blessed my family and me immensely over the past couple years. I have felt His comforting arms around me in my hardest times. I love the Savior and I love my Father in Heaven. I know that if you pray to receive a confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel, that you will receive it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example. I always strive to treat those around me with kindness and charity. I am a hometeacher (someone that checks up on a family every month to make sure they are doing well, and their needs are met) and I try diligently to visit my families each month. I try to be a good example of a Christian while I am at school, I help others when ask and try to include everyone when I can.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

All Mormons are not required to serve a mission but the Church has a strong tradition of missionary service. Members find it a service to serve a mission. I didn't personally serve a mission, at the time I just didn't want to do it. I wasn't looked down upon for not serving a mission, I served in other ways. I can tell you 10 years down the road, I wish that I would have served a mission. I believe that a mission gives the missionaries invaluable lessons and tools that they can use for the rest of their lives. Show more Show less
