Hi I'm Blaino

I was born and raised in Kansas. Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married 13 years and have 4 children. I have a degree in illustration but it wasn't paying the bills. Now I'm in school to be a physical therapy assistant at 38 years old. I still love illustration even though it is now my side job. I enjoy playing with my children, playing sports, and playing sports with my children. I love my beautiful wife and she didn't even tell me to put that in.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the LDS church I had to decide for myself if I believed the things I was taught. My conscious conversion came as I was preparing to serve a full-time mission for the church. Through learning to teach the gospel to others my own understanding was expanded and I realized that I had been sure all along. The gospel made sense to my mind and the Holy Spirit witnessed to my heart of the truthfulness of what my parents and the church had taught me. The gospel became to me one great whole instead of the fragments I had previously pictured it as. I don't consider myself a gospel scholar by any means. However, the more I study about the Savior and His sacrifice, the more amazed and humbled I am. I know that Jesus lives, that He loves me and wants me to return to him. I know that He calls prophets today to lead His church just as He did in Bible times. I know that Jesus Christ's church is upon the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is holy scripture that provides additional witness that Jesus is the Christ and His gospel is real. Just as I didn't have to rely on my parents or the church to obtain my witness, neither does any one else. The Lord will always answer the sincere prayer of His children. Anyone can pray and find out for themselves if the things I believe are true. And that, is truly good news for a distressed and weary world.

How I live my faith

I work at a physical therapy clinic and enjoy helping people get better. More than that, I enjoy the relationships I've developed with the people in the community as we share in each other's lives through happy times and sad. In the church I work with the youth, specifically the young men between 12-18. I serve as both a church leader and a scout leader. I am amazed at the abilities of the youth in our church today, spiritually, academically, and athletically. I believe our Father in Heaven has reserved these choice spirits for these last days in preparation for His Son's triumphal return to the earth.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Blaino
The LDS church doesn't endorse any political party or candidate, even if a candidate is LDS. This falls in line with the teachings of Joseph Smith, the church's founder and prophet, who counseled that people should be taught correct principles and allowed to govern themselves. Show more Show less
