Hi I'm Ladell

I'm the youngest of 10 kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 10 kids, three sisters and seven brothers. No my Dad doesn't have multiple wives, he just has a perfect one. My parents have been happily married to each other now for over 50 years. While I was growing up I never saw my parents have a fight, they were always very reasonable with each other and came to a suitable compromise that best fit both opinions equally. Maybe that had something to do with the fact that I was raised many years after their marriage so they had all the kinks worked out, but I personally like to believe it's because I have parents who are perfect for each other. When I turned 19 years old, I served a two year mission for the church in the West Indies Mission. I loved serving, and I loved how it made me feel to know that I was helping individuals improve their lives to become more like the Savior. Now I have been home from my mission for two years, I am currently attending ASU and so far I have loved the experience and challenge that it has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have chosen to be. No one has instructed me that I have to be a Mormon, and no one has commanded me to be a member of this church. I am a member because I know without a doubt in my mind that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I have witnessed with my own eyes the miracles that living the gospel brings into the homes of those who accept it. While I was serving my mission people would question my belief at almost every street corner, they would tell me that I belonged to a false church. My life was even threatened and a few occasions, but then, as now, my opinion has not changed, the church is true! I have witnessed the transformation of a man who had been enslaved by the heavy addiction of drug abuse into an outstanding citizen in literally a few weeks. Because he felt the light of Christ and chose to follow His example. I have seen families come together for the first time to show support and truly have love for one another as families should. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that Jesus Christ descended from the side of the Father to come to this earth to save us from our sins, if we just believe and follow His example. I know that if we are faithful and live our lives in harmony with the teachings of Christ and his disciples that we will be able to return and live with God again. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each of us. I know that God sends prophets to the earth to testify of Christ, and to help us understand true doctrine. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today. I am thankful for the love that our Heavenly Father has for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example to those around me. I try to live my life in a way that the Savior would expect of me. I don't drink alcohol, i don't smoke cigarettes, and I don't use any other illegal substances that are harmful to my body. I am not perfect, I make mistakes, but I repent of those mistakes and try to turn from them. Life often gets hard, and trials seem to be attracted to me like bees to honey, but I get through them. I know that my trials make me stronger. And no matter the trial, I know that our Father in Heaven is always there to hear and answer my prayers. The answer I receive may not be the one I expected, or the one I wanted but I know that He knows what is best for me.
