Hi I'm Taryn

I'm a Mormon. I am married 6 years with a baby on the way!

About Me

I love to hunt, play sports, coach softball for my old highschool, scrapbook, & eat cookies! My husband and I have been married 6 years and we are finally expecting a baby! I actually never thought I would have children, I was fine with my 2 english bulldogs. But I saw how my dogs acted around kids and how much they loved them & it made me finally start thinking about having a family of my own. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is the only 'mormon family' in our relatives. My immediate family members have all had to answer this "Why I'm a Mormon" question one time or another. My aunts, uncles, cousins, etc, all asked me that question when they realized they could not attend my actual wedding ceremony in the temple, only the reception. I was the first one in my family to be married in the temple first, not have a civil ceremony then a year later go through. So it was hard for my extended family to take. I did politely explain the importance of a temple marriage and the reasons I chose this path of life. I know that Jesus died for us so that we may live with Him again. I know that if we live a good life here on this earth & do what he would have us do we will be blessed throughout the eternities. This gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helps give you those standards to live by so that we all can make it back to live with our Heavenly Father again. This church also helps remind you, at least every Sunday, that you are a son or daughter of God who is loved. It teaches you of Christ and His perfect example he showed on this earth. It gives you friends with similar morals, standards, and guidelines to live by. I love being a Mormon, if for nothing else, for the order and 'rules' of life.

How I live my faith

Up until about a year ago I served in the church by teaching young children. I loved how simple they were to teach. I would have lessons titled, "I love water," "I love animals," "I love my family," etc. Now I am serving as a Ward Missionary. What we do is help out the missionaries in our area, because there are only 2 of them and a lot of ground to cover. We help sit in on missionary lessons, find people who would like to be taught the gospel, and on Sunday's we teach the Gospel Principals Class for new members and/or investigators (visitors) of the Mormon Church. Every month women of the ward get together to have fun and get to know each other and make new friends. Sometimes we do sports, other times we make crafts. We also do a lot of service projects for the needy around our area, which is always a joy to know you are helping someone in need. The women are always teaching me something new and I love it!
