Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Colorado and now live in Texas with my husband and three children. I love reading and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy person and I try to look on the bright side of life. I love reading--there's nothing like snuggling up with a good book. I also love music. I play the piano and the flute, and I played piccolo in my college marching band. I enjoy baking and cooking. Much of my time is devoted to caring for and teaching our three small children. It is a blessing in my life to be able to stay at home to teach them and to watch them grow and learn new things. They bless my life with their smiles, their laughter, and their little hugs and kisses.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on the earth today. I know that the Lord restored His church through the prophet Joseph Smith and that the God's authority, even the priesthood, was restored as well. I know that the Lord leads the church today through a modern-day prophet, even Thomas S. Monson. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a fullness of truth. I know that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and atoned for my sins. I know He was resurrected and that He invites me to come unto Him and become like Him through living the Gospel and making and keeping covenants with Him. I know that the only way to return to my Heavenly Father is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have seen the blessings that come into my life through my obedience to the Lord's commandments.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. I study the scriptures and pray daily. I seek to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ in the way I live and to teach them to my children. I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I live my faith by paying tithing on income and by donating money to care for those who are less fortunate. I teach a daily religion class to high school juniors. Every morning (early!), we meet to study the Lord's word and teachings, as recorded in the scriptures and to learn how to apply those principles in our lives. This year we are studying the Old Testament. I visit other women in my area monthly to share with them a Gospel message and to share friendship and fellowship with them. I also seek to help those around me who are struggling or facing challenges in their lives. I live my faith by trying to to treat others in a Christ-like way.
