Hi I'm Delann

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of 32 years, a mother of 5, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother of 5. I graduated from college with a degree in Elementary Education. I enjoy working in the yards and garden. I enjoy cooking especially for big crowds. My favorite thing to do is get together with the family during the holidays and on vacations. I enjoyed throughout my life snow skiing, water skiing, playing softball and volleyball and watching my children and grandchildren participate in these events. My favorite holiday is the 4th of July. I am very patriotic and love our country. I love history and learning about different cultures of the past and the present. I really enjoy traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I come from pioneer roots. My ancestors were among the first to join the church. I grew up in a family with a dad and mom, 3 brothers and a sister all of whom have been great examples to me of being steady and strong in the gospel. Since childhood I knew the church was true, and always felt a desire to go to church and follow what was taught to me. I love the fact that we have extra guidance in our life through the gift of the Holy Ghost. I would have had a hard time raising 5 kids without the help and guidance I recieved on a daily basis. I am blessed to be married to a great man who honors the priesthood that he holds, and follows the counsel of the prophets. Life is tough and I am so thankful I don't have to go through it alone. The Savior has and I hope will always be the one I hold onto through troubled times.

How I live my faith

Doing the "small and simple" things have helped me the most. Daily scripture study, prayer, fasting, family scripture study, family prayer, family home evening, observing the sabbath day, attending the Temple weekly and service. All of these things have helped me in my various church callings and my calling as a wife and mother. I have been blessed to get to serve with the young women, children, scouts, and women in my various church callings. Whether it was coaching a girls volleyball team, watching over 130 women and their various needs or cooking for 600 people on a reenacted pioneer trek, I have enjoyed serving others and seeing changes in their lives. I am thankful to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I am thankful for the friendships I have with many people in the church and many neighbors and friends not of our faith. I can always count on someone to help me in a bind. I would hope they could count on me as well.
