Hi I'm Shannon

I love laughing, music, and swimming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love swimming, hiking, and summer in general. I love to be with family and friends and just have fun and laugh together. Music is a passion of mine, especially singing and playing the piano. Chick flicks and comedies are my favorites, and I believe that life is meant to be full of cheerfulness and joy! I am going to be an elementary school teacher. I love kids and want to influence them for good and help them to see and reach their potential.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it strengthens my relationship with Jesus Christ. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father and a loving Savior. They want me (and all of us) to be happy. When things are hard, I can always fall back on those two truths and it helps me get through. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because my understanding of God's plan for me grows and is strengthened. I know that He loves me, that I have the Savior to help me, that I can be with Him and with my family again, and that He hasn't left me alone, but continues to speak to each of us personally, through the scriptures, and through a living prophet. It blesses me with knowlege, guidance, and comfort.

How I live my faith

Everyday I strive to live what I believe and follow Jesus Christ. I have been given many opportunities to serve including helping youth, teaching music to children, and helping to organize events for college students. I hope to help others feel of the Savior's love.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Shannon
We are all equal in our Heavenly Father's eyes, so all members of the Church of Jesus Christ are equal. We are all given opportunities to serve in various responsibilities for different periods of time. The leadership of the congregations are just regular people who have been given a specific responsibility for a period of time. As everyone is able to serve, we are able to learn and grow and bless the lives of others. Show more Show less
