Hi I'm Skyler

I grew up in Utah, I love to go camping, enjoy the outdoors, play tennis, water/ snow ski, and eat, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Skyler I like to do pretty much anything that is outdoors. I love camping, biking, hiking running, and just about every sport. I have played tennis for a while but absolutely love Ultimate Frisbee. There is nothing that feels better then a rug burn from the unforgiving turf field after making a diving catch to make a goal for the team. I also enjoy just spending time with friends and family. I went to college for a year at Snow College in Utah but now am currently serving a mission In Indiana. I plan on returning to Snow College and finishing up there, and then continue my studies elsewhere. I haven't decided where yet. I look forward to the future to see what it has in store for me but love every moment I have to be alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or a Mormon because I have a personal testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I grew up in a Mormon family and for awhile thought that it was enough to just believe what my parents told me but found out that I needed my own testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After many prayers at my bedside and studying the scriptures I came to know that these things were true that The same church That Jesus Christ established when he was in the world has been established again and that there is a Prophet who leads and guides its members. I continue in this gospel because of the joy I have seen it bring to peoples lives including my own. Nothing has made me as happy as serving the Lord with all my heart. I want others to feel this same joy and really come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I love Our father in Heaven and his Son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to live my faith is through Service. I love being able to serve God and know that when we are serving others we are serving God. Sometimes just getting to work and doing physical labor feels great! Right now I am serving as a missionary for the church and Inviting others to come to Christ and it is the greatest thing I have ever done. The Lord loves and blesses each and every one of his children and I love being able to help him do that.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is different than the Bible Because it is a record of two different people. Its like for example if you and I are both Followers of Christ live our lives and write down everything that happened to us at the end of our lives if we compared what we wrote down it would not be the same story because we are different people and different things happened to us. True there might be some similarites. Especially if we both sought to follow Christ Because he is the same yesterday, today, and forever we would both want to be able to return to him and do our best to do so. So just as our stories would differ so does that of the Book of Mormon and Bible because the Book of Mormon talks about the People In the Ancient Americas and how they came to know God and The bible talks about the People in Ancient Jerusalem and how they came to know god.
