Hi I'm Linda

I was born in Idaho and reared in various locations in the western U. S. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I try to be open to new experiences. Which is good, because I have moved a lot during my lifetime. I love to be creative. I sew, knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, bead and do ceramics. Most of the things I make I give away. It is so much fun to share with others! I love to read a variety of books, including the scriptures, adult classics and children’s classics, history, commentary, and do-it-yourself, to name a few. I never know when an "a ha!" moment may come my way when reading, but it is very rewarding when it does! I love to facilitate growing things, whether in a garden, a pond, an aquarium, as houseplants, pets, or my grandchildren. It is such a miracle to see things blossom, whether it be a plant, an animal, or a person. I love to make friends and get to know people. I have had so many wonderful people influence my life for the better. I love music, whether singing in a choir, listening to my favorite recordings, or just singing by myself as I do things around the house. Sometimes I make up lyrics to sing with music that I am familiar with, just for fun. My kids used to think I was terribly silly when doing this, and would roll their eyes at me about it, but now they think it is really fun, too! I love learning. I read a wide variety of books to broaden my horizons. And learning new things helps me feel invigorated. I enjoy baking, especially when I can find a good recipe or product for gluten-free foods.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to member parents and was reared within the influence of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I have several generations of Mormons on both sides of my family, as I continued in my life, I have gained my own testimony line upon line, precept upon precept, having received witnesses of truths of the gospel through the Holy Ghost that have been undeniable and anchoring. Even as a child, I always felt at home when going to church—like it was just where I was supposed to be. I have always felt Heavenly Father's loving, guiding hand in my life. Now, it is where I want to be, as I grow closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by serving God’s children and studying the gospel. When I am striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ, everything in my life just goes better, and that is a great feeling!

How I live my faith

I endeavor to do things that Jesus might have me do and to be the kind of person that Jesus would want me to be. I look for ways to serve others, to show them that they are loved, and to treat them with kindness. I try to give others the benefit of the doubt, because one never knows what others may be going through in their lives. I live my faith as I live my life—it is just a part of me.
