Hi I'm Monique

I'm a bit quirky. I love trying new things. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Monique! I recently graduated from BYU-Idaho and am trying to see what life will bring next. I am the oldest of three. I was born in Colorado but raised in Texas for most of my childhood. My family and I moved back to Colorado when I was around fifteen when I got really sick with Lupus and my mom and I were looking into the possibility of me getting a kidney transplant. Right now I have started a blog and youtube channel where I try to show people my experiences of what it is like living with so many different illnesses, living my faith and just trying to navigate this crazy thing called life. This is pretty much it, lol!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always wanted to know more about God. I knew there was more to it than just believing. Being sick at the age of seven, with arthritis, can be difficult but I knew to trust in the Lord that everything would be ok. When my mother decided to say yes to going to church with one of her friends that is when my life would change forever. That was the first time I would ever go to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After that first time the missionaries started coming and teaching us the lessons. Getting sick for the second time at the age of fifteen with lupus shattered my world but also fortified my faith. When I got a blessing for the sick in the hospital I knew at that time that this church was true, because of the confirmation I felt and the peace I felt at that time and that no matter what obstacles come in front of me I must have faith in the Lord to overcome them. After leaving my hometown were I lived for almost twelve years and coming back to my birth town and I got baptized I knew that I was making the right choice. I am glad to be a Mormon and am blessed to be here.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith every day is by standing as believer in Christ and always trying to follow in his footsteps. I love my religion and it makes me happy and it is a part of who am now. So every day I wake up in the morning I try to do the best I can by trying to be an example of the best person who every lived in this earth my Savior Jesus Christ. I know being good in this world can sometimes be hard especially when the world tells you that it is ok just to do whatever, but I know that by following in the footsteps of the Savior I not only feel happier, I feel my life is full of joy and goodness.
