Hi I'm Laren

I am self employed. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all my life. I served a two year mission to the northern New England states here in the USA. I got a bachelors degree in business management and now I operate two tax preparation offices in Arizona. When its not tax season I love camping, fishing, gardening or anything else that gets me outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the LDS church. I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ since I was young and have found that when I live by the principles he taught I am happier. I have learned these things are true for myself because I have lived them and they have blessed my life. In the LDS faith I have found the answers to life's most important questions which bring me peace that cannot be found any other way. I recently read the books in the New Testament that tell about the life of Christ. As I did, the Holy Ghost bore witness to me once again that he is indeed my Savior and the Savior of all those who come unto him. I hope everyone will come to know these things are true as I have.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in an (unpaid) administrative capacity in my congregation where I help maintain membership and financial records of those in the congregration. I have a strong testimony that the Lord cares very much about the welfare of His sheep and the sacred funds they donate to help further spread the gospel throughout the world. I enjoy very much the opportunity to gather together with fellow members of our church to worship and strengthen one another. I have developed many friendships as a result. I think sometimes people think members of the LDS church are a little exclusive but in reality we just enjoy being together and developing strong ties. Hopefully everyone comes to realize that we invite all to come share in the blessings we enjoy.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

The term "Mormonism" or "Mormon," is a nickname that people have given us over time. The real name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This name stems from the fact that when Christ was on the earth he established a church with prophets and apostles who were commanded to teach his gospel. Eventually these men were killed and many of the truths they taught were lost. As a result the Lord had to reestablish his church on the earth a second time and then to differentiate the restored church from the original church the words "of Latter Day Saints" was added to the name. Mormons therefore believe in the same truths that Jesus taught when he was on the earth. Just as with the original church we also have prophets and apostles who teach his gospel and help us know what to do to prepare for his second coming. Show more Show less
