Hi I'm Tracie

I am married, I am a mother, I am a childbirth educator and labor and birth doula and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a happy and active person who loves to laugh and enjoys trying new and challenging things. I homeschool my children because I love to teach and to learn. I love being a mom more than anything in the world and I believe (without bias of course) that my children are some of the best people in the world. My second job is that of a childbirth educator and doula. I support women in labor physically and emotionally and it is my passion. It has spiritual significance to me because I believe that bringing forth life is a gift God gives us to help us recognize his love for us. When a new couple feels love for a newborn child that they have created and labored to bring into the world it gives each of us a glimpse at how God must feel about us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I was baptized a member of the church when I was eight years old. I was raised with the beliefs and teachings of the gospel from the beginning of my life. This might lead a person to wonder if I am simply a Mormon because it is all I have ever known. I can assure you that is not the case. I am an avid learner and researcher and it is my nature to question and seek truth and enlightenment. In my search for God's plan for my life I have had a conversion of my own to the beliefs and tenets of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is those beliefs and my testimony of God the Father and Jesus Christ that leads me to live and raise my children in that gospel. I'm a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true and everlasting Gospel of Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and provides teachings and knowledge that brings joy into the lives of its readers. I know these things because I have asked God if it is true and I have felt within my soul a resounding affirmation from him that it is. I'm a Mormon because being one brings me joy.

How I live my faith

Before we had children my husband and I lived our faith on a certain level. We attended church regularly and we tried to live well but it wasn't until after we had children that; like many; we decided to live it more fully as a means to raising our children with structure. The serendipitous result of that was that we quickly came to recognize that faithful living was congruent with a stronger sense of fulfillment. We realized that as we lived our faith more fully we received many blessings in our lives. Our marriage was strengthened and parenting became easier as we looked at the pattern of parenting that God has set forth in the scriptures and through modern revelation to his prophets. Besides Sunday worship we try to live our faith as fully as possible by reading scriptures and praying daily both with our children and as individuals. We also hold Family Home Evening (or FHE as we call it) every Monday night as we have been counseled by the prophet to do. I am known for being very protective of our FHE time which is our time as a family to play and learn together without interruption from outside sources. My husband and I both hold callings to serve within the church as well.
