Hi I'm Heidi

I'm a mother of 5. A real estate broker. I adore my husband. Love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I have five kids, three of my own and two wonderful step-children. However, they are no longer children, now they are BIG kids. My husband, Glenn and I have been married for eleven years and still going strong! We met in Utah, moved to Seattle, WA for six years, and now live in Austin, TX. Upon our move to Austin we became empty-nesters. I am a real estate broker and investor. I enjoy “flipping homes”. I’ve been in the real estate industry for sixteen years. I love to spend time with my husband. Our favorite past-times are boating and going for cruises on our motorcycle out in the country. My hobbies are hiking, reading, sewing, landscape photography, eating out, going to the movies, trying new recipes and hanging out with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

To me, the teachings of The Church of Latter Day Saints make sense. I believe Lord is still leading and teaching us today, just as in ancient times. We have a living prophet to guide us. The Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Christ from the people on the American continent. Additionally, we have modern day scriptures and revelation. All of which are given to us by the Lord to help us. I believe there is purpose in our lives. The Gospel has helped me to understand my divine purpose, and also God’s plan of happiness for ALL of us. Having this understanding gives me greater meaning in my life. Most of all, I’ve learned from personal experience that when I live the Gospel principals I’m happier! I feel fortunate that I had the Gospel in my life during my youth. I was adopted at birth and my birth mother was a member of the church. She was unable to care for me at the time, so she made sure I went into an LDS family. Although I was raised in the church, I became inactive during my teenage years, up until about seven years ago. During these years, I questioned, doubted and even mocked the teachings of the church. Looking back, I can clearly see that I was just trying to justify my actions, and the lifestyle I was living at the time, which was contrary to the teaching of the church. After much heartache in my life, and searching for happiness in all the wrong places, I found myself turning back to the church to find peace. It was the ONLY place I could find it. I am thankful that I had a foundation in my life to turn to in my time of need. The road back was long and rough, even my marriage was on the verge of collapse. We would not have made it, had we not both turned to God and brought Him into our marriage. Now I’m fully committed to living my life according to Gospel principals. It is the best thing I ever did. I’ve tried and tested it. I know without a doubt, IT WORKS!

How I live my faith

I make it the center of my life. When I do so, everything else falls into place. Being a Mormon is not just something you do on Sunday. It's a way of life! I begin by trying to keep my home clean and orderly, with pictures of the Savior and temples surrounding me. I try to be in tune with the spirit, by daily prayers, scripture reading, and avoiding music, television and movies that chase the spirit away. I love to serve others. It brings me much joy! When I am called to serve in the church, I do my best to magnify that calling. Right now, I am blessed to have the opportunity to serve as a youth leader. I work with kids ages 12-18. They teach me so much, they're a blessing to me. Also, I go on monthly visits to other women in the church to fellowship, help and support as needed. I strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ by being kind, loving, serving others, being honest in all my dealings, and by being faithful and obedient daughter of God.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is one of the focal points of our religion. We believe we are spirit children of our Heavenly Father and that we can continue to live as a family unit in eternity. Even those that have passed away without a knowledge of Jesus Christ will have the opportunity to be sealed as families through the work performed in the Lords sacred temples. Show more Show less
