Hi I'm Cole

I'm a city kid, a product designer, and a student. I love walking and photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in New York City, but right now I'm going to college for product design and engineering. In my spare time I love to read, walk, participate in the theater, and take photographs of flowers.

Why I am a Mormon

While I always grew up in the LDS church, I didn't always know that it was the church I needed to be a part of. I went because my parents did and because it was something good in my life and helped me stay grounded. Without it, I'm pretty convinced that I would have drifted. During the last two years of high school, I started having doubts, and when I went away to college, I knew that the time had come for me to to know for myself. Either the LDS church is Christ's church on earth and I then needed to live a certain way, or it isn't and I didn't need to go to church and could live however I wanted as long as I read the Bible and prayed. I did a lot of scripture reading, especially from the Book of Mormon, and praying, but I still wasn't getting my answer. I realized that I wasn't receiving one because I was fighting it. At that point in my life, I knew the church was good, but I didn't really want to do everything that came along with committing to be a member. It wasn't until after church one day that I realized if God was going to answer me, I needed to start acting as if I was going to stay part of the church. I started putting my life in order and about three weeks after I made that decision, I got my answer. The LDS church does contain the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the authority to administer it. Because I know that I will always remain committed to the church and the way of life that the gospel teaches me to live.

How I live my faith

On a daily basis, I read my scriptures and pray. These two things give me the strength to continue through the hard times of life. I also try to improve my character and live according to the moral laws set by Jesus Christ. It often is hard, but those are the times that I have to remember to rely more closely on my Savior and anchor myself more firmly by sticking to the small and simple things. I am also involved in my local congregation by teaching classes to those who want to learn more about the church or simply come closer to Christ. Doing so not only allows me to help others have better lives, but also helps me to strengthen my testimony of what I know to be true.
