Hi I'm Wendy

I'm a wife, a mother, a new grandmother and a homemaker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, met my husband in college and through his employment have lived in several states in the USA. I've enjoyed each place and love having friends all over the country. I consider being a Wife, Mom and Grandma my best achievements. I like to hike, swim and kayak and enjoy vacationing anywhere there is a beach. I enjoy sewing, making crafts, cooking (and eating, of course!) and going to good movies . Of all the things I enjoy doing, my very favorite thing is, and has always been, finding a good comfortable chair and settling in with a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a descendant of Mormon pioneers and was raised going to church and participating in all the children and youth programs that the church offers. In my teenage years I realized that I couldn't rely on the knowledge of my parents and my ancestors, but that I had to know for myself that the path I was on was the correct one. I'm thankful for the upbringing that I had and for the leaders and teachers in church because I realized that little by little I was getting a testimony of my own. As trials and temptations occurred I could put into practice those things that I was taught and I found out that by practicing what I believed my convictions became strong. I can't define a specific time or event that happened to help me believe, it was a gradual learning process that continues today. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or the Mormon church, I have come to know that it's teachings are true, I know the Savior, Jesus Christ, performed the Atonement in my behalf and that because of His Atonement I can repent of my sins and be resurrected after I die. I'm thankful for the knowledge I have of the Eternal nature of the family, for my family is most precious to me. I love the Book of Mormon, it's teachings are beautiful and it truly testifies of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful that we have a Prophet, who leads our church in the way Jesus wants it to be led. I'm so very thankful for my membership in this church.

How I live my faith

I've had many church callings in my life and have truly learned to love those I've been privileged to serve. I've taught young children, teenagers and adults and almost always have learned more than I've taught. I've participated in choirs, have led music, played the piano and organ. Right now I'm blessed to be able to teach a class once a month to the women in our congregation and I visit 4 women regularly to check on their well-being and to give them an inspirational message. When we are baptized we take upon us the name of Jesus Christ, as a Mormon, I try to live everyday of my life in accordance with His teachings. I'm far from perfect, but I try.
