Hi I'm Alex

I love Football, I'm a Missionary, I want to be a Fireman, I speak Marshallese and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was called to the Washington Spokane mission, ENGLISH speaking. I was so excited to serve english. However, that had changed. My mission president had asked me to serve as a Marshallese mssionary. I am now serving with an amazing branch of our wonderful marshallese brothers and sisters! I was raised in the church be was baptized when I was 9, almost 10. I played football for 4 years in high school. I will be going to college after my mission and will be working towards being a Doctor. But what I really want to do in life is be a Fireman!! I think it will be awesome. Most of all, I love our savior Jesus Chirst and what he has done for all of us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I have felt the spirit of the Lord tell me that it is true. I was raised in the church from the time I was young. I had always wanted to be baptized but had to wait till I was about 9 years old. I had lived the morals the church has encouraged us to live. The things Jesus Christ has asked us to live. I was always led to do the right thing because I had fallowed these teachings. My Mom my 2 older sisters and my younger brother, were always trying to do things to live the standards of the church. Around my teen years, my family became a little in active. We weren't going to church as much and it started to cause problems to occurr with my family. My mom had married a guy and ended up getting a divorce. I was blessed with really great friends that had helped me stay active in the church and to do those things that were right. They had helped me not fall into a world of drugs and alchahol and to do those things that were not right. I had been able to go to church every week and learn and get strength. Even though my family weren't all active I continued to stay strong. Later on, my family started to come to church seldomly. They started to get strength and comfort. I should make a note that my oldest sister was also active and had gone just about every week. Now I am serving a mission. I love my family and try and help them as much as I can. Some of my family don't attend church all the time, but I love them all very much. I know that the Lord protects them and loves them too. He loves us all so very much. If we are willing to trust the Lord he will protect us. It has been through my life experiences that I know that the Lord loves me. He has comforted me and continues to help me in my life. As I serve my mission in Spokane Washington, the lord continues to help me. I get to serve in an awesome branch wiht our Marshallese Brothers and Sisters! A great Blessing! Iakwe aolep.

How I live my faith

Currently the way I live my faith is by standing as a wittness at all times and all places of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am able to represent him and his church as a missionary. I have also served in other callings in the church and will love being able to serve after my mission. All members are able to serve in various callings in the church. There is no calling higher than another calling. In the Lords kingdom, we all need to do our part to help the kingdom grow. We are all called of him. It is amazing to serve others and in turn grow from the service offered. I also take time every day to read the scriptures. I love reading and studying the teachings of the savior. Which include, developing faith in the savior Jesus Christ and in his atonement and strengthening that faith and changing my life to be more like the savior. This also includes Repenting, Daily. Then renewing my covenants of Baptism and recieving the Gift of the Holy Ghost every single week as I take the sacrament at church on Sunday. I am always doing my best to endure to the End. I like to have my actions show that I am a true servant of the Lord. I am always a Member of HIS church. Not just on Sundays. I also try to use my gifts and abilities that the Lord has blessed me with to help others. I enjoy doing service for others and trying to help lighten their loads. I also try to be respectful and treat others the way that Christ would treat them. Above all, I am always ready to do what to Lord asks of me. The Greatest way I live my faith, is by myself and my Father in Heaven. Developing a greater relationship with my Heavenly Father is very important to me. As I call on him and communicate with him, he always helps me. It helps me more in my life than anything else. He leads me to those that need him and he may use me to help them.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Alex
NO!! When I say a prayer, I address our Heavenly Father, God. I then thank him for the blessings that have in my life and the many great and marvelous things he has done for me. After I ask him questions, things I need help with and things I would like to know. I am able to talk with him. I then close in the name of Jesus Christ. I never say Joseph Smiths name in my prayer, except when I prayed to know if he was a Prophet called of God. When I go to church every sunday I am able to remember Jesus Christ and his atonement that he has made for us. We worship him. He is our Master. Joseph Smith was just as the young boy prophet samuel, he was called of God to teach the people and to bring truths into the world that were lost. The same had happened with Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith had suffered many things for which he had seen and been commanded to do. We are greatfull for the things he has done in his work to restore the church once again to the earth. He was a prophet chosen of God, to do the Lords will. Show more Show less
