Hi I'm Max

I'm a Type I Diabetic. I make short films. I'm a nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Tucson, Arizona and moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona around the age of 8. I was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 10 and have got along fine with it ever since. I was an only child in my family until my parents took in two foster children. Now we're a bigger happy family! I'm currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the state of Washington. I spend all day every day talking to and helping people apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. Before my mission I enjoyed making short movies with my friends. We loved trying to make our own homemade "special effects." After my mission I plan to continue learning about film-making in college.

Why I am a Mormon

My family and I were introduced to the Church when I was pretty young. When we moved to Prescott Valley our neighbor was a member of the church and invited us to a service. We enjoyed it and shortly after were introduced to missionaries from the church. Although I was young, I can still remember the feelings of the Spirit we felt during those visits. Eventually, the missionaries invited us to be baptized and it came time to make a decision. I vividly remember praying by myself one night and asking my Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true. The Holy Spirit filled me and I knew that it was. From that knowledge I knew this church was God's church and that I needed to be baptized. I can remember as my parents both received their own individual answers from our Heavenly Father as well. I have since put that small seed of a testimony I received to the test many times. Each time I have gone back to my Father in Heaven in prayer and each time I have received confirmation that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's true church on the Earth. And for that reason, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by sharing it with everyone I come in contact with! As a missionary I'm to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. I live this purpose everyday as my companion and I search out, through the guidance of the Spirit, those who don't have the full blessings of the Gospel in their lives, teach them about that Gospel, and invite them to do things to apply it in their lives.
