Hi I'm Jeff

I love the outdoors and having fun. I'm a Latter day Saint

About Me

As a kid I was always outside and active doing something. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, camping, fishing, playing sports of anykind. I'm the type who can't stand to be sitting doing nothing, so I don't spend a whole lot of time watching movies, TV, playing video games or being on the internet. I like to spend my time building things. It is fasinating to me to take something that is normal or bland and turn it into something unique and beautiful. One of those things I love to do is build log furniture. What most people would use for firewood, can be taken a peice at a time and made into an amazing peice of furniture. I could spend hours out in the shop and be perfectly happy, and the reward when I am finished is one of the great blessings. After high school I spent time working installing tile floors and showers and also working at a plumbing and irrigation supplyhouse. I am the youngest of 6 children, and I love it! I love spending time with my family because when I am with my family I always have a smile on my face and we laugh quite a bit. Laughing and being happy is on the top of the list of things I like to do. I have 15 Nieces and Nephews and they are the best ever! After working for some years after high school, I saved enough money to serve a full time Mission and it has been the greatest thing that has happened up to this point in my life. It is hard being away from family, but it is worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned earlier, I love being happy and having a smile on my face, and helping others put a smile on thier face. The most happy times of my life is when I was living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and striving to become more like the Savior. Even more rewarding is to see others as they come closer to Jesus Christ and see their life improve. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have had many spiritual witnesses of questions I have. I still have much learning to do, but what I do know is that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and also the Savior of all mankind. I know He lives and guides His Church on the Earth today. I know that God, our Heavenly Father loves us and know us and cares about each of us. I know without a doubt that God, and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and called him to a be a Prophet, the instrument to restore Jesus Christs Church. I know that because I have read the Book of Mormon many times and I know it is inspired, I know that it is a Sacred record and I know that it is true. The Book of Mormon along with the Bible have been the personal guide to my life, and the source to come to know who Jesus Christ is and what he has done for me. Because the Book of Mormon is true, I also know that we are led by a Prophet today, Thomas S Monson, and Tweleve Apostles. They recieve personal guidance from Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Chuch. I know that I and anyone can each recieve a personal witness of any truth through the Holy Ghost. The greatest joys in my life are, my family, living the teaching of Jesus Christ and sharing those teachings with others. I know that if we have any question, God will answer if we have Faith, ask God and study and search the Scriptures. This truely is the Plan of Happiness for the Children of God.

How I live my faith

I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a way of life. The best way for me to live the Gospel is to apply what Christ taught, to love our neighbors. I strive to be kind to others, speak positively of them. I know that I am not perfect at that and I have weakness but that is what the Gospel is there for, to help me change and become more Chirstlike each day of my life. Currently I am serving a Mission for the Church and it is currently how I live my Faith, but this is just a start of how I live my Faith and hope to be able to provide for the hungry, the poor and homeless. Before my Mission, I loved to visit people and get to know them, especially those who don't get many visits. I learned that my problems faded away as I thought of others.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by Prophets just as the Bible was. The Book of Mormon was written between the years of 600 BC--420 AD. The Prophets that wrote BC, tesified that Christ would come and that He would be our Savior and Redeemer. The Prophets AD taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ and testified that He came and toke upon Him our sins and that he was Ressurected. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and he did not write any of the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
