Hi I'm Tawnya

I'm a Mormon. I love being a mom, sewing, playing cards, reading, and gathering family & friends together. I am a cosmetologists.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 children. We are campers. Our boys are into motorbikes, soccer, cross-fit, ice hockey and music. Our girls are dancers, tumblers, and piano players. I love to read, sew, cook, play cards, go to the beach, exercise and cut hair. I met my husband at Ricks College in Idaho. I always loved doing hair so I finally went to cosmetology school in Idaho. My parents got divorced when I was 8. I grew up in a unique situation. I was blessed with a wonderful step-father who I loved very much. I have 8 brothers and sisters, 4 step brothers and sisters, 2 half brothers. I am lucky to have 2 wonderful dads. I am working with my husband in our family business now. I love to travel and plan parties to gather friends and loved ones together and make memories.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I went through the pains of a broken family and situations within that which required me to learn to love, forgive, and heal. I needed the church, prayer and scriptures very much from the time I was 6-16. I was blessed with a believing heart. I always new the church was true because it always felt right. During this difficult part of my life I found comfort in knowing I had a Father in Heaven and that He knew what I was going through. I felt like I could talk to Him in prayer when no one else was there to talk to. I always felt His love as I read, prayed and listened to the hymns. It was during this time that I knew I had to know if the church was true. I followed the scriptures and prayed to know that it was true and received the answer to my prayer in the simply words and feeling of, "you already know." I was so at peace and felt wrapped in His love. The gospel is the center of my life.

How I live my faith

I love to serve and get to know people. I cut and color hair and so I meet alot of fun people. I also serve on my HOA board in my neighborhood. I love to go in and help at my childrens schools. I have served in our church primary with children 18 months-12 years for many years. I have also served with the teenage young women for several years. I love to give young women and young men opportunities to get together and have fun in a safe environment doing creative things. I love putting together neighborhood parties and think I am part of an exceptional neighborhood where everyone knows and cares about each other no matter what religion. We all watch over each others children and help when we can. Christ-like love has bonded us all together.

What is being a Mormon like?

Great. It's nice to know who you are, where you came from, where you are going, what you stand for, and what you want to become. It makes all the other questions and choices that come your way simple to make. Once you decide your bounds and what you want to become you have vision and will work hard to achieve it.
