Hi I'm Tara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Aloha! I love adventure and meeting new people. I spent 4 summers selling books door-to-door throughout the US, I've driven across the country 12 times in the past five years, I travelled all of Europe and New Zealand, and I moved back to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to my family. I have 12 nieces and nephews that I get to take camping, shopping, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, slurpee hunting, and basically spoil rotten! These little ones fill my life with complete joy! In the meantime, I started my own Postpartum Doula Service where I support parents as they welcome a newborn baby into their family. I spend my early mornings with fabulous young men and women as their seminary teacher. I live a life surrounded by children, how lucky is that!

Why I am a Mormon

My dad is the courageous one, he converted from Hinduism to Mormonism when he was 14. He was very faithful and because off him I learned at an early age to put my complete faith in the Lord. I remember when I was a youth, my dad had a heart attack. We were getting ready to plan his funeral, when my brother said we needed to fast and pray. My siblings and I knelt down and pleaded with the Lord for a miracle for my dad to live. The Lord was very mindful of our young desires, slowly my dad recovered and 17 years later he is still with us. I continue to trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ. He has redeemed me from my sins and is my only Salvation. I love that we have His atonement and that we can repent and be worthy to one day live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in daily service to others. My family is my first priority. We care for each other, we watch out for each other and I get to have an active role in the lives of my nephews and nieces. We are lucky to live close by and be in the same ward. I often lean on my family for help with my calling to teach as the youth seminary teacher. I am amazed at these young men and young women. They wake up early, and come to the church to study the Old Testament at 6 AM before going to high school. We have 16 students in our class and they attend a high school of over 1600 students. There are only a few Mormons in their school, and many people are watching them to see what they do and how. I have the privilege of them gospel doctrine and preparing them each day to feel the Spirit before they take on the world!
