Hi I'm Uriah

I'm a husband, father, engineer and a boardgame geek. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play and design board games. I am an avid reader, especially of science fiction and fantasy. I am the father of three wonderful children. I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world. I work as an engineer and love to solve problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been going to church for my whole life. My parents taught me about the gospel and encouraged me. Given that, I am not a member because of it. I am a member of the church because I have a personal witness that God lives and loves us. He wants us to be happy. That is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ means to me, happiness. I served as a missionary for the church for two years. This was a time when my testimony grew by leaps and bounds as I taught others and saw the effects that the Gospel had in their lives. My wife and I both want to serve as missionaries again. One of my favorite things about the Gospel is the promise that I can be with my family eternally. Two of my children are adopted. One of my favorite memories is seeing my family all together in the temple as the youngest was sealed to us. What an incredible experience. I know that I can be with them and it motivates me to make the right choices.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the ward clerk in our local ward. While a lot of the calling is making sure that administrative details are done, I enjoy my associations with the members and the opportunity to talk about the Savior. I also enjoy visiting with the families I hometeach to make sure that they are doing well.
