Hi I'm Julia

I'm a mother. I work as a hair stylist. I love to write. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this year. It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. We have three kids ages 5, 7, and 9. We live in the phoenix area, though some summer days I'm not sure why! I work as a hair stylist part time and my husband is in school finishing his Civil engineering degree. It makes for some busy days, but education is important and we want our kids to value it as we do. I have always been involved in sports and love to run. It not only keeps me healthy and fit, but it is time alone for me to think and run off any troubles or frustrations I may be facing. I run a few races a year for charity and hope it will teach my children that exercise can be beneficial for mind, body and spirit.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the mormon faith by a very close knit and devout family. I was never a rebellious child who needed to try things for myself in order to be convinced of something. I tend to be trusting and didn't question or search out for myself whether or not the church was true until I was in my 20's. After much personal studying, searching, prayer, and thought, I know of it's truth. My testimony of Jesus Christ is the very core of my beliefs. He is my Savior, my brother, and my friend. I love the organization of His church. There is a purpose for each law and process. Each person has a special role. I am grateful for the gift of service. Both to give and receive in time of need. I have a testimony of the law of tithing. I have seen its miracles numerous times in my life. I am still so green in the knowledge of His scriptures. There is much I don't understand. But I do understand the spirit I feel as I read those pages. I am grateful that my family is sealed together for not only this life, but for eternity. I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father and am grateful to be part of this gospel.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed by the experience of serving with children and youth for most of my adult life within the church. I have taught all ages from age 3 up. I have served in the cub scout program, and the youth programs. I am currently serving in the young women program. We teach girls ages 12-18 each Sunday and once during the week. I have gone to girls camp each summer for 4 years with them, where they learn survival skills for both their spirits and bodies. After 10 years of serving in these callings I realize that these opportunities are not only for the children I teach, but for me and my growth as well. I am grateful that my Heavenly Father has entrusted so many of these children to my care.
