Hi I'm Rob

I'm a husband. I'm a student at Arizona State University. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently attending ASU majoring in Secondary Education: History so that I can teach at the middle or high school levels. As you can probably guess I am a history buff. I was married on August 6, 2011 to my best friend and love of my life Kim. I love spending time with my nieces and nephews and just being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been members of the church since the beginning in the 1830's but that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because of my love for the Savior. Jesus Christ has saved me from a life of sin and addiction and I owe everything to Him. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know that the Book of Mormon comes from God and I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today. All of that has been revealed to my heart by the Holy Ghost and I know that this is the right path back to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I do my very best to be kind to everyone that I meet and try to see them as sons and daughters of God. People around me know that I am a Mormon and they respect what I believe and do while I do the same for them. I attend church every Sunday with my wife where we are Sunday School teachers for the adults in our congregation. I also spend a few hours a week helping and working with those who are struggling with addictions. I share my story of how I have been saved by the power of God.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Faith is not a one-time occurance, faith is a dynamic part of life that needs to be worked on every day. In order to do this I make sure to do several things every day of my life: 1. Read the Scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and the words of living prophets). 2. Say my prayers (by myself and as a family) 3. Obey the commandments 4. Repent when I do something wrong (this is very much a daily thing because I am no where near perfect) 5. Serve others, try to serve as Jesus did 6. View other people as Jesus would, see them as sons and daughters of God This is a good list but I have found that if I just go through the motions and do the bare minimum they do not work nearly as well to increase my faith. Faith is like moving up an escalator going the opposite way, if I am not actively working I start moving away from my goal. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He loves me. He is my Savior and I love Him with all my heart. Show more Show less
