Hi I'm Shane

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 18 years and have 4 children. I own and run a home care business that assists elderly people with their daily living activities. I enjoy playing sports, especially basketball and golf. I am a college graduate with a degree in Geography with an emphasis in Meteorology. I served a two year mission in London, England for the church in 1990. I met many wonderful people there, some of which I am still in contact with today.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Mormon church. I was baptized when I was 14 in El Paso, TX. Missionaries came to my families house and taught us about the church and about the restoration of the gospel. My testimony grew as I learned more and prayed to know if the church was true and if Joseph Smith truly was a prophet. I know that this church is true because I have received answers to my prayers. I enjoy the fellowship and the opportunities for service that the church provides.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. As a member of the church in Texas we have had the opportunity to help those who have been devastated by hurricanes on the gulf coast. The church helped organize service projects all over the Galveston area that was hit so hard by Hurricane Ike. It was nice to feel that in some small way I was able to assist that community in its recovery efforts. Additionally, there are many other local service projects that we as a local congregation participate in that don't typically get all the media attention but are just as valuable to those who are helped.
